Family Promise Mat-Su

<p>Families need gas for their cars, diapers, formula, baby clothes, school supplies, and so much to take care of their children. When families come to Family Promise Mat-Su, they don't even have a safe place for their family to sleep and no money to get one. Your donation to this drive will allow us to put aside some funds for each family so that we can help them get the things they need for their family while the parents focus on the harder things to get back on their feet. Each family will be allotted $500.00.  These funds are for purchasing car insurance, application fees for housing, and ordering birth certificates and photo IDs.  Leftover funds are used for the family's move-in needs once they find their new forever homes.  Needs such as cleaning supplies, toiletries, kitchen and laundry supplies are gifted as move-in baskets.</p>

<p>Have you ever moved from your childhood home? Was it easy to make new friends? Did you like your new bedroom? Children in our program are secretly dealing with a whole set of emotions that are often unknown to anyone. The unfamiliar surroundings, strangers coming in and out of the building that looks like a house, and for the younger children there might be a new daycare. Some children experience homelessness with anxiety, while others may be depressed and withdrawn. We are raising funds to provide a designated cash flow for activity expenses that will help children cope with their feelings in healthy ways. Activities like painting, arts and crafts, sports in school, swimming lessons, and other activities requiring fees for supplies or participation. Your donation will make it possible for us to provide $500 for 200 children to receive opportunities for healthy emotional stability during a time of great uncertainty.</p>
